This piece was drawen awhile ago and frankly I've already thought up a better version but this was sitting in my harddrive so I figured I would post this anyway.
Like the Werewolf and Vampire that appear through out modern culture, the Wendigo is making its way into popularity. The Wendigo is a violent spirit native to the northern regins of Canada with an unearthly hunger for human flesh, a hunger that can never be satisfied. The Wendigos in Crossover are basicly the same as in folklore but they are believed by some occult groups to be the spawn of the demonic spirit Ithaqua. This ofcourse is a debate sense other groups and orders suggested that Wendigos are either demons, malicious nature spirits, or possably the lost souls of people who died during the harsh winters; either way they all agree that Wendigos have strong connections with winter, the cold, starvation, cannibalism, and greed.
Like the Werewolf and Vampire, the Wendigo is able to turn people into Wendigos but unlike the Werewolf and Vampire the person gets possessed by a Wendigo spirit if they commit the act of cannibalism in the northern areas of Canada. Once the person becomes possessed by a Wendigo they develope conditions similar to Windigo Psychosis which causes the person to despritly look for food, believing they would starve to death despite the fact that they would have enough food to last for weeks. Once they break down and cosume human flesh they undergo the transformation into a Wendigo.
The only way to destroy the Wendigo is by destroying it's heart which is said to be made of ice. First one needs to incapacitate the Wendigo, next drive a silver stake through it's heart in order to shatter it, then put the pieces in a securely locked silver box and bury it in consecrated ground, after dismember the body with a silver tipped axe and the pieces must be salted and burned to ashes and scattered to the four winds. Once this is done one wouldn't need to worry about the Wendigo, however, if these procedures are not done properly theres a high chance of the Wendigo comming back to life and theres also a high of the Wendigo wanting revenge on its would be hunter.
